A brief discussion on the experimental bench that is more common in the laboratory

In the laboratory, the most common thing we see is the experimental bench. I believe everyone has seen or used different ones, so how do we distinguish between so many products in the market?

1. Classification by material

1. All-wood structure: This is the most commonly used form. It is lighter in weight, more flexible, and can be combined into individual units. Its disadvantage is that it consumes a lot of wood.

2. Steel-wood structure: This structure is composed of steel brackets, cabinets, countertops, footings and other components. The steel bracket is made of thin-walled steel. There are anchor screws at the bottom of the foot bracket, and there is a pipe space between the steel brackets. The cabinet is made of wooden components and can be flexibly hung on steel brackets. Although this material has anti-corrosion coating on its surface, it will inevitably rust. It is generally used in instrument analysis rooms. The advantages of steel laboratory furniture: it is strong, beautiful, can be used for more than ten years without deformation, and can withstand strong acids and alkalis. It is the development direction of laboratory furniture.

It is also the development direction of laboratory furniture.

2. Classification according to experimental purposes

There are mainly chemical experimental benches, instrument experimental benches, rooftop platforms, washing benches, high temperature benches, etc., and there are many types. Depending on the layout of the laboratory, the experimental bench is located in the middle of the laboratory and is called an island laboratory bench; if one end of it is against the wall, it is called a peninsula laboratory bench; if one of its long sides is against the wall, it is called a side bench (side bench). The corresponding reagent racks, washing tables, and utensil cabinets are also different. Some products are also divided into single-sided and double-sided experimental benches, with the latter actually referring to island-type and peninsula-type experimental benches.

        3. According to structural form: divided into fixed type and combined type

1. Fixed type: There are many types of fixed type, which are still commonly used in our country. Commonly used reinforced concrete structure countertops and brick supports, wooden utensil cabinets under the countertop, and white ceramic tiles, terrazzo, marble or natural granite on the countertop. This type of experimental bench is sturdy and durable, can withstand high temperatures, and is stable. It is often used on rooftop platforms, high-temperature furnace benches, and photometric instrument benches. However, the shortcomings of this type of experimental bench are also obvious.

2. Combined type: Relying on its own structural form, it is divided into several separate parts, which are made separately and then combined together. It can flexibly arrange the laboratory, facilitate transportation, and facilitate serial production.
