How to deal with fume hood exhaust gas

organic waste gas treatment uses various technical measures to reduce fuel consumption, reduce organic solvent consumption or exhaust gas purification to eliminate organic waste gas pollution. Organic waste gas pollution sources are widely distributed. In order to prevent pollution, exhaust gas purification is currently a feasible treatment method. In addition to reducing fuel consumption and reducing the amount of organic solvents, it also reduces the generation and emission of organic waste gas. Commonly used methods include adsorption method, catalytic combustion method, thermal combustion method, etc. This purification method, depending on the specific situation, adopts a low-cost, low-energy consumption, non-secondary pollution method, which is detrimental to the efficiency and completely recovers the components and waste heat. In most cases, due to the high concentration of exhaust gas, the petrochemical industry uses methods such as condensation, absorption, and direct combustion. In the paint construction and printing industries, adsorption and catalytic combustion are used due to the low concentration of exhaust gases.
       1. Condensation method: The organic waste gas directly enters the solution, and through the condenser of adsorption, absorption, and plate separation, the value of the organic matter can be recovered. This method is suitable for high-concentration, low-temperature organic waste gas. Under small flow conditions, supporting refrigeration equipment is required. It is mainly used in pharmaceutical, chemical, and printing companies.
       2. Absorption: Physical absorption is generally used, introducing absorption liquid exhaust gas purification, absorption liquid saturation heating, condensate water recovery, and gas analysis; this method is suitable for large volumes, low temperatures, and low concentrations, but it should be equipped with a thermal analysis recovery device, large-volume equipment, and high investment.
Activated carbon adsorption of waste gas generally adopts the activated carbon adsorption method. After the adsorption is saturated, the activated carbon is regenerated, the exhaust gas is blown off, and the catalytic combustion is converted into harmless substances. Activated carbon is used continuously after regeneration. After the activated carbon is regenerated for a certain number of times, the adsorption capacity decreases significantly, and the activated carbon needs to be regenerated or updated.
Activated carbon is currently a commonly used method for treating organic waste gas. It has good adsorption performance for benzene waste gas, but poor adsorption capacity for hydrocarbon waste gas. The main disadvantage is that the operating cost is high and it is not suitable for environments with high humidity. The use of activated carbon is a common method currently used in the market. Activated carbon is mainly activated carbon and activated carbon fiber. Activated carbon granules are cheaper but less effective. Compared with activated carbon fiber, activated carbon is more expensive and more effective.
       3. Direct combustion method: oil or gas is used as auxiliary fuel to burn, the mixed gas is heated, and high-temperature harmful substances are decomposed into harmless substances; the process is simple, the investment is small, and the effect is good.
       4. Catalytic combustion method: The exhaust gas is heated and converted into harmless and odorless carbon dioxide and water through catalytic combustion; this method has the characteristics of low ignition temperature, energy saving, high purification rate, easy operation, small floor space, large investment, high investment, and is suitable for high temperature or high concentration organic waste gas.
